Research Interest Statement
My work ranges from financial management to decision-making under risk. Risk management methods and tools, such as futures markets and crop insurance, often are the subjects of my research projects. Recently, my work has also looked at the relationship between economic development and the economic viability of American production agriculture. Using portfolio theory, I have evaluated the effects of technology, globalization of commodity markets, and rising input costs on the cropping decisions of individual producers. From these results, I have looked at the aggregate trends and their long-run implications for America's investment in production agriculture.
