Scholarships and Awards

California Homebuilding Foundation

The California Homebuilding Foundation (CHF) is offering a scholarship to undergraduate students in the ARE department. CHF is the scholarship, research and education center for California's homebuilding and construction industries. CHF scholarship will be given to a student interested in a career in the building or construction industries. This award is administered through the scholarship office which require the student to be in good standing and a minimum GPA of 3.25.

CoBank Scholarship

An award conferred by the department to a student currently studying agribusiness, cooperatives, or a related discipline who has displayed academic excellence.

Daniel B. DeLoach Scholarship

An award to students who are of junior or senior standing, majoring in Managerial Economics with some upper division course work completed and an overall GPA of at least 3.25.

Department Citation in Managerial Economics

A departmental award in recognition of outstanding undergraduate academic accomplishment is given to graduating seniors in spring quarter.

Eric Thor Scholarship

An award conferred by the department to a student of sophomore or junior standing, in recognition of outstanding academic performance.

Lawrence E. Shepard Scholarship for Excellence

Lawrence E. Shepard was a professor in the Agricultural and Resource Economics department at UC Davis from 1975 to 2004. His impactful teaching and research in investments, real estate economics, regulation and anti-trust economics inspired his students to pursue careers in these areas. Established in 2011, this fund was created in his honor by former student and real estate banking executive D. Michael Van Konynenburg. The scholarship is restricted to a student either in pre-managerial economics or managerial economics in the Agricultural and Resource Economics department in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences who demonstrates excellence in the coursework. An interest in a career in commercial real estate or agriculture is favorably considered.

Pinkerton Scholarship

The R.M. Pinkerton Agricultural Marketing Scholarship Fund is open to students in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences with a stated career interest in agricultural marketing. That interest should be expressed through their UC Davis scholarship application. The student needs to be in good standing with an overall GPA of 3.25.
